Europaskolans Preschool
Europaskolan's preschool offers small groups of children, qualified English- and Swedish speaking members of staff, light and newly renovated rooms in the centre of Stockholm and an international well known curriculum with focus on intercultural understanding and respect, communication and holistic learning. The company Parts & Paomees is operating Europaskolan's preschool. We follow the Swedish curriculum for preschool, Lpo -94 parallel with an international curriculum, the International Baccalaureates Primary Years Programme (www.ibo.org).
Primary Years Programme – Our pedagogical activity from preschool up to grade 5.
With an international pedagogical program we develop the whole child, both cognitively, socially, emotionally and culturally. With the support from an international organization and a well developed international curriculum we offer an activity where the international perspective is integrated as a natural and important part of the daily work with the children. Our environment, knowledge and care of the staff members create comfort for the children. Our planned activities are adapted to the children’s level of development and stimulate and develop for instance the child’s trust to its own ability. Our goal is to increase the children’s respect for other people, animals and nature from a local, national and global perspective. Out pedagogical activity stimulates the children to an active learning, both independent and within a group.

Through games and creative work we want to encourage the children’s search for answers of their own and other’s questions. It prepares the children well for future schooling. By working from an international perspective, we teach the children to appreciate our world and its habitants. By being good role models in the work with the children, we teach them to show tolerance and respect for others and value their own and others traditions and cultures. By working with the children’s empathy and human kindness we teach them how to take responsibility and be caring. It is supposed to be fun to learn. With a stimulating activity we develop the children’s curiosity and wish to learn. By strengthening the children’s self esteem and trust, they will be willing to take risks in their aim to develop further.
General facts about Europaskolan's preschool
The company Parts & Paomees is running Europaskolans preschool in newly renovated and learning conduvtive environment within Europaskolan's building. We are located in the centre of Stockholm, both at Luntmakargatan 101 in Vasastan, Renstiernas gata 12 and also at Gotlandsgatan 43 in Södermalm. There is a small school yard next to each school building.
Europaskolans preschool is a small and familiar preschool. Our goal is to work with small groups of children. Today we accept not more than 20 children in Vasastan and not more than 36 children in Södermalm.
Our preschool activity is a good complement to the home and a very good preparation to the child’s future schooling.
The globalization of today stresses the need of good language skills. We use both English and Swedish in the preschool activity. Our staff members are educated preschool teachers/teachers/care givers and our aim is that at least half of the staff members should have English as mother tongue. If you also choose Europaskolan for your child’s future schooling, you will give your child the opportunity to future excellent language skills, when “Language” is one of Europaskolans profiles.
Europaskolan runs a private preschool that has its own separate enrolment. You are more than welcome to register your child in our queue. We practice the proximity system and the priority of siblings. We apply the maximum rate.
The daily activity
The toddlers (1-2 years old) need care modified to their age group. We give them care where security and comfort is the main priority. It is a care where the children receive the calm and the closeness that they need. It is a friendly, positive and stimulating environment in which the children can develop on their own pace, socially, physically and emotionally.
The children who are 3-5 years old are self-sustained and want to do as much as possible on their own. We support their work with becoming more independent individuals. That is why we let the children drink out of small glasses when they have lunch, pour out of a small pot and eat with knife and fork when they are mature enough to do it. The children also get the necessary time so that they can try to put on their clothes and undress.
Play is a central tool in our whole pedagogical activity. We also encourage uninstructed activities, such as “free play”, when we know that the free play allows the children to cooperate, show consideration, organize, express and work with their emotions in different parts. Through play, the children also develop their ability to show empathy.
The assembly is a time during the day when we all get together. Apart from informing about the activities and events for the day, we use the assembly time as a conscious social and pedagogical training. Our other planned pedagogical activity is mainly based on the children’s own interests and questions. We work thematically with different areas with support from the language based, physical, esthetical and social development.
