After school care

The main goal

Our overall goal is to create conditions for a fun, meaningful and relaxing spare time together with the children, where they can feel comfortable with each other and with the staff.

Opening hours

The after school care opens 7.30 am and closes 6 pm every day. Between 7.30 – 8 am, the preschool is looking after the children. The after school care close temporarily between 8.30 am, when the school day starts, and up to when the Kindergarten class ends their day, at around 12 o’ clock. After school care manager is however available if a parent would need a private talk.

The after school care is open during the teachers’ seminar and during holidays. Day before holiday, the after school care closes at 4 pm. One Friday per term the after school care will be closed for planning and evaluation. Information about which days are will be notified in time. The whole school and both the after school cares will be closed during three weeks in July. During the summer weeks both after school care centres will collaborate in order to use the resources and the staff members in the best way.

Weekly planning

The weekly planning is put up on the notice boards in the stairways /corridors plus published at the school’s intranet SchoolSoft. Information is given about the weeks outings, where we for example go to parks or museums, and times when we are back at school. We try to offer activities that are personalized after the children’s needs and wishes. There is for instance the opportunity to attend music- and art groups, have games in the gym hall and get help with home works. An inventory is taking place each autumn and spring during draft planning. The draft planning and the schedule for the term as well as planned activities are published on SchoolSoft and the notice boards.

Cost

For a position where the child attends the after school care for more than five hours per week, the maximum rate is applicable, and the monthly costs is at the most 840 crowns per child. If there are more siblings within the child care, the fee will be lowered. Reduced fee can also be approved after a written application has been sent to the school. For children who only wish to go to the after school care a limited time, as well as older children who wish to eat snack, Europaskolan can offer the possibility to attend the care five hours per week for the cost of 150 crowns per month.

The goals for the After School Care

Our goal is that the children can feel safe in the after school care and be able to trust all the personnel. We shall have good contact with parents/guardians and develop further the cooperation with them. We shall also strengthen the collaboration with the class teachers in order to attain a comprehensive view of the child. Everyone’s responsibility for our environment, material, equipment and personal belongings shall be addressed. Having the Swedish LPO-94, the Governing Doctrine and especially the Plan of Action to fall back on, we shall work against discrimination on the basis of sex and unjust treatment as well as making the children aware of these central ideas. The Swedish cultural heritage and traditions will be passed on, but at the same time we appreciate the culture diversity that exists within the school. Together with the school we want to create our own meaningful traditions and a good atmosphere. Since one of Europaskolans profiles is language, we shall try to make the children more comfortable with the English language.
